This print depicts two black-headed seagulls fighting over an ice cream. It is hand-printed using a baren, and blocks and stamps carved out of Japanese vinyl. The blocks are used for the birds, the stamps for the ice cream.
I used Cranfield Caligo black ink for the birds and a Tsukineko Versafine Clair Acorn ink pad for the ice cream.

I live in Swansea, near the bay, and the seagulls are bold, but this particular memory is from a trip to St Ives where a seagull snatched my ice cream. In Mumbles, the best loved local brand is Joe’s Ice Cream. Luckily I have yet to have a Joe’s ice cream stolen by a seagull.
