I love beachcombing. I have a collection of seaweed, mermaids purses and so on, which get washed, dried, pressed ready for use.

I combined these found materials with one of my sketches, printed on acetate and laid on the paper along with the seaweed and mermaids purse.

I was disappointed by this image when it first appeared. The materials cannot have been flat against the glass in the lightbox, leading to the blurred result. But now I like it for exactly that effect, as if you’re peering into a rockpool.
